must get upright

I started blogging once upon a time with good intentions. The focus of this particular blog is to record cycling related gunk, but I've fallen down...on both journaling and cycling (sadly), and I need to get back in the saddle again.

On a positive note in this regard, I completed the 28 mile course of the RoseDale Ride last weekend without too much difficulty (other than a sore @$$). I had a lot of fun riding with a couple of colleagues and their kids.

Tim Litch had a child tandem attachment for his bike with his son, Adam, was riding on back (the "afterburner"). Eric Deal was pulling an enclosed (Burley?) trailer with his daughter Lizzy inside, and Eric's son, Jimmy, rode alongside us on his kid's bike with knobby 20" wheels.

Jimmy got quite a kick out of trying to keep up with me as we climbed the little hills on the ride. I was delighted and amused at his excitement, so I would gear down and start spinning faster to pace him. That kid was working hard, I tell you.

On Sunday, Steve Vu and I are going to ride Muleshoe, if we don't get rained out, that is. If we do, I may take the Surly to the Veloway instead and ride some hard laps.
